Learn how to knock down the four walls of your classroom and connect your students locally and globally. See the large impact social media can have with your classroom and curriculum. From connecting with parents and collaborating with local classrooms to expanding your students view on the world. Learn how a teacher utilizes the social network to keep families up to date with what is happening in the classroom and connect with other classrooms in the area and around the world. Discuss possible specific activities including a book club with classes around the country, mystery Skype calls, and using Google Docs for activities such as 20 questions and pen pals. Attendees will walk away with immediate ideas to implement, from the beginning tweeter to the expert in social media.
