Limited Capacity seats available

We are three librarians from the Downers Grove Public Library, where we have recently made STEM a priority. During our large building redesign last year, we added a STEM Room and a digital Media Lab, utilized primarily by children and teenagers.

During our session, we would like to talk briefly about what STEM means, why it is important in school classrooms and libraries, and how STEM activities can be practical and fun at the same time.

After our brief introductory talk, we would like to have stations set up with some fun STEM gadgets for participants to play with. We will have Cublets, a 3Doodler, Bee Bots, a Makey-Makey, and a Sphero.

We will also give participants a great list of Chromebook and iPad apps for the classroom to take away.

Session Format: Facilitation - participant driven with guidance from the facilitator.
